The Catholic Women's League was organized at St. Henry's in 1960, the first Spiritual Advisor was Fr. Tom Novak, OMI. Our present Spiritual Advisor is Fr. Slawomir Oblak, OMI. The Catholic Women's League of Canada was organized officially on July 17, 1920 and recognized by the Canadian Council of Catholic Bishops as a lay association of women in 1992 and granted federal incorporation December 12, 1923. We are affiliated with the International Union of Catholic Women's League now known as World Union of Catholic Women's Organizations. The Catholic Women's League is organized and pledged to serve with all citizens of goodwill.

The Constitution and Bylaws govern the operation of the League and can be changed by amendment at National Council.
MISSION STATEMENT The Catholic Women's League of Canada is a National organization rooted in Gospel values calling its members to holiness through service to the people of God.
CREST, CORPORATE SEAL & FLAG The crest was designed and adapted in 1922. It is comprised of: the cross, symbol of faith; 10 maple leaves, representing the provinces of Canada, with the words "The Catholic Women's League of Canada For God and Canada", enclosed in an unbroken circle, symbol of constant service to God and Canada. Colors: blue, chosen for Our Lady and the papal colors, white and gold. Written permission from National must be requested before reproducing the crest.
CORPORATE SEAL conforms in design to crest and is in custody of National office.
FLAG: adapted in 1990, is the permanent public symbol of the League.
The league has membership and operates on the parish unit, with diocesan, provincial and national levels.
The League operates on a system of "Standing Committees" and is to make the fullest possible use of these committees on the involvement of all members. Committee chairpersons shall be elected, if insufficient elected may be appointed. The League is politically non-partisan.
GENERAL MEMBERSHIP: A Catholic woman 16 years of age or over may become a member, with voting privileges and with eligibility for office by election or appointment.
ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP: A non-Catholic woman 16 years of age or over may become a member, with voting privileges, but without eligibility for office by election or appointment.
Membership Fees at St. Henry's: $20.00
Any member wishing to withdraw her membership may do so by written letter to the secretary.
